Hi all!! Its here… A Little Crisp is finally a blog and up and running! It was almost two years ago that I had this wonderful idea(l) to document our journey into parenthood. I’d deliver insight into what we got up to as a duo at home whilst Daddy was out at work, whilst being all helpful and letting everyone know what great things they needed for their baby, what they didn’t need and all that worked for my little one and I. Sleeping, weaning, the lot. No stone was to be left unturned. But then reality struck and that little thing called motherhood took over, leaving the poor blog sidelined, fading to become something I would promise to get on with every now and then. For 18 months that cycle went back and forth. Until now…
So who are we?
We are “The Crisps'”, well Daddy and Emilia are, I’m a Crisp-to-be. I know what you’re all thinking, “if its takes her this long to get on with a blog, they’ll not be married for the next ten years”, a true story more than likely.
We currently reside in the West Midlands, having moved down from Sheffield last year. I’m a Beauty Consultant/Make Up Artist turned top knot wearing Stay-At-Home Mum and whilst I do very much miss my work, I have most definitely found my calling as Emilia’s mummy.
Emilia is our 18 month old little beauty, very strong willed and already addicted to both Peppa Pig and Dinosaurs. Rich, who I’m engaged to is a Professor of Psychology and someone who Emilia and I are very proud of. We met online, had the whole “whirlwind romance” thing going down and our little “Rae” of sunshine (Rae is her middle name) came quite early on in our relationship.
As for the blog, I’m hoping to blog regularly and I figure if I write it here, then I’ve made the promise to keep it up (a bit like telling someone you’re going to the gym. Once its been said, you can’t back out!). Whilst not totally sure yet what road the blog is going to take, I’m thinking our lives, what we get up to and so on.
I’d love to chuck in some skincare and beauty know-how for good measure, it’s still a great love of mine and I get to be totally impartial now I’m a paying customer again! Definitely going to talk about Motherhood, the good, the bad and the ugly! I also had a loose plan to backtrack my way through the highs and lows of our early months. I’d like to talk about Emilia’s birth in some way, I know its not really the done thing, but we had a very rare occurrence that I’d like to bring awareness to as its shaped who I am as a mother hugely. Last but not least, I LOVE interiors! So naturally will be sharing photos of our home, with before and afters as we do up our home and of course any little tips we’ve learned along the way.
Anyway, this is turning into a very long intro, I hope you’ve liked what you’ve seen so far and can’t wait to get cracking with some more posts. Thanks for stopping by!
