2017 has seen one of my favourite brands Green People celebrate 20 years of Organic Beauty! I for one am so happy that I get to help them celebrate this huge milestone and achievement. Unfortunately I was unable to make their celebration party in London, but the Instagram Stories of the event looked fabulous and I missed out on a real treat! Luckily for me, Green People are so generous they sent me some products from the Special Edition Collection to try out and talk to you about.
I’ve blogged many times for Green People and each product I write about, the more I love them as a brand. Because not only are they Organic, contain no harmful nasties etc etc, they actually work! I can’t think of a single product I’ve used that I wouldn’t buy again and as you know they’re the one of the few brands I trust on Emilia’s skin. Also what gets a big thumbs up for me is that so many of the products are the same as when they first started out. Which solidifies the fact that they work and don’t need messing around with, updating all the time and that Green People aren’t one of those ‘faddy’ brands that get caught up in products of the moment.
Now one thing that Green People unknowingly like is a challenge, as I will be the first to admit I’m not a hand cream fan. At all. They’ve always been too heavy, sit on the skin, leaving an oily, greasy residue and so I haven’t ever really stuck with one. Hence the fact I now have the hands of a pensioner and knew it was time to invest in a hand cream, I had really high hopes for this one!
The scent is divine! Containing organic Shea Butter, soothing Jojoba Oil and calming Aloe Vera this product is also blended with precious Rose Otto for a beautiful, long-lasting scent.
Well I love it! I’m sitting here typing this blog post with the softest hands I’ve ever had, with no residue, no ‘ickiness’ and lines that I thought were from ageing actually turned out to be dryness/dehydration have dramatically reduced. Not bad for just a few applications! One of the things I love about the packaging is the pump applicator, really easy to use and so unusual as they usually come in tubes. This is now a handbag staple and will be for a long time to come!
In the past I’ve always favoured a gritty exfoliator for the face and have dabbled with at home micro-dermabrasion systems, used Salicylic Acid in toning lotion type products etc. But as I’ve gotten a little older, my skin seems to prefer a more gentle approach. This special edition skin brightening exfoliator contains nourishing Shea Butter, the grains themselves are gentle Bamboo and Apricot Kernel (goodness knows in the past how many products I’ve been through containing microbeads!) and also has Hibiscus to firm the skin, it’s also known as the “Botox plant”! Definite winner here!
Like I said, this product is really gentle, but so effective. a small amount goes a long way and my face feels refreshed, brighter and clearer after each use. And no redness like I’ve had before! Since using this, I’ve noticed less blemishes on my skin and I feel that the products I’m using afterwards are sinking into my skin.
So that’s two more products I’ve moved over to Green People, I absolutely love perusing their website to find my next purchase and the more I read of what’s in their products and how they work has a brand, the more I’m happy with the move we’re gradually making to organic. Happy Birthday Green People!
