Soooo how are the holidays going for you? We’re having great outdoor fun whatever the weather throws at us (and let’s face it, the weather’s been all over the place hasn’t it?) but that hasn’t stopped us getting out and about. Emilia’s favourite pastime has always included getting as muddy as possible, playing with sticks, stones and building. Which is great as outdoor play, getting stuck in and ending up with mud everywhere is one of my favourite childhood memories!
But it’s also nice at the end of the day to know that with a quick dip and a splash in the bath, Emilia can be back to being all lovely, fresh and clean in time for bed. I’ve only just cottoned on to the genius that is the sink bath! As we don’t wash hair every evening, it’s so quick and easy for me to pop her in the sink and use and all over wash on her. That’s where our favourites Green People come in! As you all probably know, I’ve used this brand from the beginning and it’s our go to brand for pretty much everything for Emilia. So much so that I intend to add an organic section to this blog so you can head straight to all of those posts in one category.
Green People very kindly sent us the Organic Children Bath and Shower – Berry Smoothie 200ml to try. Having used their Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner for a long time I was eager to try the Berry version. We weren’t disappointed. Use under running water as a bath gel then I lather up a sponge and let Emilia wash herself! A little goes a long way so she usually ends up washing all of her bath toys with it too. She loves the fruity scent too, the Raspberry, Apple and Vanilla aroma is scrumptious and really refreshing!
Good to know for me is that it’s kind to the most sensitive of skins, there are no SLS/SLES (fake bubble making chemicals), the bubbles are naturally derived from coconut and corn.
On the move we’ve always used hand wipes or just good old baby wipes. I had no idea that organic children’s hand sanitisers actually existed! The mousse like texture of the Organic Children Sticky Hand Sanitiser 100ml is so quick and easy to use. This sanitiser contains organic Aloe Vera, Orange and Mandarin along with Tea Tree for its natural antiseptic properties (no alcohol here!) and can be used on sticky fingers, faces, toys and even high chairs!
I carry ours in our Skip Hop Grab and Go Stroller Organiser so it’s always to hand for in between hand washes. I also use it after changing Emilia if I change her where there’s no sink. I must add we’ve had this all summer long (apologies to Green People for how long it’s taken to write this post!) and I don’t think we’re even half way through it! It’s definitely my pushchair staple and will be for many years as I’m sure there’s plenty more grime and mud coming my way.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of the holidays and have hopefully provided you with a couple of staple items to keep those little ones squeaky clean whilst they enjoy their outdoor adventures. I just think it’s brilliant that there are ways to do this without using nasty chemicals.
