Throughout my second trimester I’ve been thinking of ways to make Emilia feel included in this pregnancy and more grown up as well. As I’m so aware her whole world is about to change it’s been lovely to spend lots of one on one time together since I’ve been feeling better recently.
This half term we decided to update Emilia’s bedroom. Something that was just for her, a lovely bit of time to bond as we did everything together and Emilia was able to help choose all of her new things!
Firstly, we decided to extend her bed to full size as she’s so tall she’s outgrown the toddler size! This was great fun and Emilia enjoyed helping out with her toolkit!
Then we thought we’d add some soft furnishings. This is where Soak&Sleep came in! A little while ago they got in touch to see if we’d like to try out some items from their lovely new Spring range. Having tried out some of their items previously (I blogged for them last year HERE, on a Spring update for our bedroom), I knew the children’s range would be exactly what we were looking for!
We were sent some items for Emilia’s new big bed including the Magical Bed Linen Set, Grey Single Fitted Sheet which both match perfectly with the cream and pink theme she currently has. The bed linen set is great quality, lightweight and a really pretty design, yet not too ‘pink’. Emilia loves the Princess castle theme that she chose and that there are different patterns on each side of the bedding.
Always in need of toy storage, or even storage for all the throws she has, the Knitted Storage With Lurex is the perfect size for throwing bits and bobs in at the end of a day of messy bedroom play. I love that her things can be neatly and quickly tidied away ready for the next day! Emilia is happy that she knows where all her favourite toys are, and I’m happy that everything is neatly tidied away and that I won’t be standing on any Lego when I check in on her at night.
The Magical Lurex Throw With Clouds and cloud cushion are an excellent finishing touch for her bedding, we just pop the throw over the end of her bed for a relaxed look and put it over her duvet at night for a little extra warmth. I love how the grey ties in with the fitted sheet and the cloud design fits in with the duvet cover pattern. This range will definitely last her many years to come.
Other items we’ve included in her bedroom update is a new set of drawers. They’re the perfect size for her room and work really well to fit in her clothes and were originally bought to tide us over until we find a bedroom furniture range we like, but we love them and will keep them for a long time to come. Absolute bargain!
Emilia chose a little hanging rail, again to tide us over until we find the right furniture, but again she loves the fact that she can see her hanging clothes and has actually really helped with her dressing herself!
A lot of people ask me where her wall stickers are from so I’ve included them here, even though she’s had them since birth. They’ve survived two house moves and being stuck in different parts of her nursery as they never lose their stick!
Emilia’s curtains were made to measure and as we chose a classic stripe design they will last her for many years to come and through various room changes as she grows up!
