Finding comfortable Maternity wear shouldn’t have to mean compromising on style, yet it so often does. I spent most of my pregnancy with Emilia feeling totally frumpy and I’ve spent most of this time round looking for a few key pieces that I can mix and match and last the whole nine months.
In these last few weeks I’ve come across the brand new Bloom Maternity range by Frugi! Well known for their colourful, fun and organic kids wear, it was a natural progression for this great brand to branch out into Maternity Wear.
I’ll start with a little Frugi background… Frugi (meaning fruits of the earth in latin) began as a brand specialising in baby clothing to fit over cloth nappies. Using only organic cotton because of the benefits to baby’s skin, such as the softness of the cotton and the fact that there is no use of chemical nasties, it’s sustainable, environmentally friendly and ethical. Frugi is certified by GOTS and The Soil Association too.
Frugi Bloom is designed to take you from bump to breast-feeding if needed, the designs are bright, colourful, fun and soooo comfortable. I’m literally wearing the range on a wear and wash basis as I can’t bear to be without them. The items I chose are the Dress Cardi which is a fantastic cardigan with button detail which I’ve found brilliant for popping on over my maternity tops. Super soft, cosy and comfortable to wear, it goes with any item in the Frugi Bloom range, but also goes really well with some of the other maternity basics I have which is great!
The Jersey Trousers have a drawstring waistband which fits perfectly under the bump, I like the turn up details at the bottom and the fact they have pockets. I have struggled in the past with under bump garments and have therefore favoured over the bump, but these are an exception. They are also as comfortable as wearing my pyjamas and the print is so cute. So no more getting straight into my lounge clothes whenever I get home from being out!
The Long Sleeve Swoop Top is my favourite piece in the range. It would make a fantastic breastfeeding top, as it has an outer layer and the inner layer is like a vest that can be moved from the side for easy access feeding while staying covered up! I love the stripe detail and especially the honey coloured trim at the wrist. The top is really stretchy and comfortable and goes perfectly with the Jersey Trousers.
If you’re quick you’ll receive 25% off the Frugi Bloom range, along with a free tote bag until 10am April 12th 2018!
