I can safely say we’ve been through our fair share of strollers so far as whilst I’ve always been completely happy with our choice of main pram/pushchair, we’ve always struggled with getting the right buggy/stroller. The Discovery Prime Stroller by a brand that’s new to our family, Ickle Bubba is actually our fifth stroller to date! It has a lot to live up to as having been through so many, I now know exactly what I need from a buggy.
So what are my stroller requirements?
Lightweight/Easy to fold/Fits in Boot
It needs to be easy to carry, easy to fit into the boot of our car and lightweight for travelling on the bus/train which i regularly do. The Discovery Prime Stroller weighs just 7kg, folds flat enough to fit into small boots, has a lightweight aluminium frame which you can see is great quality and stylish too! If you need to see measurements here they are…
- Upright dimensions: 106cm x 49cm x 75cm
- Folded dimensions: 20cm x 28cm x 107cm
Suitable from Birth to high kg weight/Lie Flat option
This stroller is suitable from birth to four years or 20kg weight. Most only go up to 15kg, so this extra weight allowance is fantastic as there are times when we walk a lot and Emilia could have done with a stroller but instead has had to be carried as she’s become too heavy for her stroller.
It also comes with one handed recline handle. Some of our previous strollers have been drawstring recline which has at times driven me insane when trying to handle and manoeuvre into the position she wanted to be in. This stroller has a lift clip handle which easily reclines to the level you need with just one hand and clicks easily back into an upright position. I’d like to mention the upright position is actually pretty upright, again we’ve had issues in the past where Emilia felt she was too laid back even on the highest recline so this is a great feature to be so upright.
Comes with Footmuff and Accessories
Like me, I’m pretty sure you don’t have the time to be trawling the baby store looking for accessories for your new stroller. With the Discovery Prime version you don’t have to.
It comes with an SPF 50 hood (which is great as it pulls really far over) for maximum protection from the sun, leaving your baby safely in the shade. The footmuff thats included is gorgeous, with a luxury quilted detail, it’s a warm footmuff, again having ordered footmuffs to have to return them because they just don’t look warm enough, this one is the perfect balance of warm without feeling heavy.
Also included in the price of the stroller is the all important cup holder, rain cover which fits really well and easily attachable, and it also comes with a luxury seat liner.
I love the colour of the stroller, as you probably know I’m a huge lover of tan, so the trims give a really luxury feel too. I like the fact it comes with a bar that goes over the baby, it’s the first buggy we’ve had with this detail.
Underneath storage to be roomy and accessible
Again the Ickle Bubba excels my expectations with an easy to get to and spacious underneath storage section. I’ll definitely find this beneficial when I take it out shopping, as I tend to use every available space underneath as a rule!
Added extras I didn’t know I needed…
The Discovery Prime comes with a whole host of benefits I didn’t know I needed, but now feel like essentials! The hooded viewing window is great for being able to see the baby but with the added benefit that it’s magnetic, so no waking the baby with scratchy velcro!
It comes with a storage pouch which I had no idea it would come with. It’s absolutely amazing, has room for all yours and baby’s essentials, all without the weight of a changing bag on the frame. I think we’ve probably all been there with a tipping stroller situation or at least a near miss, so this is a fantastic added extra.
Also integrated into the hood is a little pouch, great for your purse and phone!
All in all I really love the Discovery Prime Stroller, it ticks all of my boxes and it has longevity. I would highly recommend it and the price is very reasonable when you consider everything that’s included in your purchase! I can’t wait to try it out with Benjamin, and watch him grow up using it.
